The 2 Minute Rope Braid Hairstyle is Amazing

2 minute rope braid hairstyle

I just had to make a mini-post after watching this video of The 2 Minute Rope Braid Hairstyle. This side rope braid is such a beautiful and elegant hairstyle that doesn’t take long at all. It’s perfect for those days you wake up and don’t feel like doing anything with yourself (which is probably most days). Instead of doing some time consuming or crazy hairstyle that’ll take you forever, just create this simple 2 minute rope braid.

The 2 Minute Rope Braid Hairstyle sadly isn’t going to work for all lengths and hair types so I’m sorry about that. However it should work just fine for medium to long length hair –you don’t need to have super long hair like hers.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

The 2 Minute Rope Braid Hairstyle

With some hairstyles, I like to type out the directions on how to do it but with this one you actually have to watch it being done to get the hang of it. The more you practice, the better it will look.

What you will need:

Dry shampoo

Hair brush

Hair tie

Hair spray

It would also be a good idea to spray your hair with texture spray to get a good hold before you start (especially if you have layers).

Well that’s it! I hope the video was helpful to you. If you have any questions or comments don’t hesitate to leave them below.

  1. I love this look. I swear if I charged a girl a dollar for every hair I braided in high school I could’ve been a millionaire! I love this look and is great for days when your lazy to do anything. I have never used dry shampoo but maybe that’s what holds everything in place. Is there any other products you suggest girls use? Love this look. Regards
    Grace

  2. I loved your tutorial! I am so excited about growing my hair back out so I can do some of these fun braids. Do you have any tips on hair growth? I have also heard great things about batiste dry shampoo and am really looking forward to trying some soon. I had been using John Freida, but it just wasn’t a good fit for me.

    • jschicanha,

Having ideas for nice hairstyles is a great way for women and girls to express themselves so I agree!

  4. Hi Gina,
I just love the look of the braid in your article but don’t think that it’ll work with my hair. The model has long, thick and shiny hair and mine unfortunately is medium length, not so shiny and on the thin side. I also have issues with my texture which is somewhat overworked from years of highlights. I’ve recently stopped from shampooing almost every day to getting in blown out once a week and trying to make it through to the next blow-out without washing it. It’s made a huge difference in the health and texture. Do you have any ideas on a low maintenance look that might work for my type of hair?

    • Lynnsamuelson,

One thing you could consider is trying out some extensions. I know that when a lot of people think of extensions, they think of extremely long hair but they come in all colors and lengths for women of all ages.

I think it’s a good idea you stopped shampooing daily because over-washing definitely causes hair to dry out.
