A Morrocco Method Boar Bristle Hair Brush is something you should consider if you…

• have frizz problems

• want to grow longer hair faster

• have dry breaking hair

• have hair that gets oily quickly

• are looking to thicken your hair naturally

Boar Bristle Hair Brush Benefits

Brushing your hair properly is important for many reasons. Morrocco Method brushes stimulate glands to have hair looking its best. They actually act as a dry shampoo, cleansing the scalp and reducing the number of times you’ll need to wash your hair weekly. Boar bristle brushes distribute sebum, which naturally conditions hair, reduces frizz, improves texture and makes your hair strong and healthy.

There Are Two Types of Boar Bristle Brushes

The Pure Boar Bristle Brush and The Mixed Pure Boar Bristle & Nylon Brush. The Pure Boar Bristle Hair Brush is soft since it is made up of only the boar bristles. It is ideal for very thin hair types. The Mixed Pure Boar Bristle & Nylon Brush has hard nylon bristles mixed in with the boar bristles which works its way perfectly through normal to thick hair. I personally prefer the boar & nylon mixed brush for my thin to normal hair.

Do you ever find yourself running your finger tips through your hair, against your scalp, simply because it gives you a nice massage sensation? I do. The mixed boar brush feels like a head massage. You’re supposed to use it three times a day but I just brush through my hair once or twice a day.

There are two sizes of each brush, the ‘small’ and the ‘extra large’. Don’t ask me why those are the sizes, I don’t get it either. I like the small brush (shown below) because it fits in my vanity drawer perfectly.

How to Correctly Brush Your Hair

You should spend about five minutes brushing your hair to make sure you fully stimulate the scalp and get the sebum spread around. Make sure to detangle your hair beforehand, with a wide tooth comb or a normal brush (however you usually do it). First, you’re going to want to turn your head upside down and really brush through, starting at the back of your neck since that’s where all the oils pile up. Brush from root to tip until you’ve covered the whole back. Then slowly flip your head right side up and brush backward, root to tip. Lastly, brush by your ears, root to tip. You can do the full cycle again to ensure you’ve covered your whole head. It feels great, trust me.

The video tells you to do this 3 times daily but I just do it like once. I know I already mentioned this but just wanted to say it again.

After a while, your boar bristle hair brush can get dirty with lint, hair, hairspray…etc. If you see it looking dirty, before using it on your hair you should clean it. Here’s how to clean a boar bristle brush. It’s pretty quick.

  3. Looks like a fancy brush, but what I want to know is wat happens when you “stimulate” the scalp? Does it like actually do something to your body? And I understand if you brush you are going to remove lots of unwanted stuff out of your hair Im sure…. but how does it make it grow any faster?

Great article, but as a male I dont know quite as much! LOL

    • TheDopestMatrix,

Stimulating the scalp gets the blood flowing which helps hair to grow faster. Massaging your head daily can also help grow your hair faster.

Haha, the brush isn’t for removing unwanted stuff out of hair, what do you think we store some road kill in there?

  4. I have African American hair and I am natural now.Have been for some time but i really need something to help control my frizz and I know a good brush could do that but I just don’t know what brush will actualy work for me… what do you think. Will these brushes work for my hair type or do you think I should try something else

    • Marquan,

These brushes work for all hair types. If you check out the website you can watch a video and learn more about how it works.

  5. This Boar bristle hair brush review is interesting. The review points out some of the hair problem it can help solve, such as frizz problems, dry breaking of hair, growing hair faster, thickening hair naturally, as well as curbing excessive oily hair . it also gives helpful tips on how to correctly brush one’s hair which could be a daily daunting task which usually takes more than 5 minutes.

However, the boar brush does not distribute sebum by itself, but rather helps stimulate sebum secretion process which helps to waterproof and protect hair from drying out. The brushing tip, thus starting from the back of the neck where the oils pile up and from the root to the tip, e.t.c, is very informative.

Also, additional information on how the boar bristle brush helps to thicken hair naturally, and also helps grow longer hair faster will go a long way to well inform prospective buyers.

    • Icyydonkor,

Yes, that is correct. The boar bristle hair brush helps to distribute sebum that that is already on the scalp, as well as stimulating the scalp. You seem to be well informed on the subject, thank you for your indepth comment.

  6. Hi

I’m a guy who keeps his hair short and tidy, but I do know of many females who have beautiful long hair who struggle with it every morning.

Frizz problems are an every morning struggle for them. I will definitely pass on the message about this incredible brush. Frizzy hair will now be a thing in the past.

    Regards, Uwais

    • Uwais,

Thanks for passing on the message. Frizzy hair is such a pain for women to deal with. I’m glad you’re helping them.

  7. Hello,

This Morrocco Method Brush seems intesresting for me because I look for a way to increase the length of my hair! However, I fear that this brush might make my hair brittle as I have black natural hair. Do you think this brush is also recommended for my hair type? Thank you for your good review!

    • Angelce903,

These brushes are for all hair types, including natural hair. As long as you go through your hair with a comb or your normal brush first, and use the boar bristle brush correctly, you’ll be seeing your hair looking healthier than ever.

  12. Great article there. I have a few brushes at home that I like to use – bristle brushes when it’s dry to give my hair some volume, and big tooth combs when my hair is wet. I always wondered if it’s advisable to comb our hair when it’s wet. I am worried that when it’s wet, it’s vulnerable so hair fall is more likely. Also, what’s the best brush to use together with a hair dryer?

    • Lilywong,

I do the same as you! I like to use a wide tooth comb after the shower. That is what I use along with my blow drier. Just be gentle with it and don’t forget to use a good heat protectant every time you use heat on your hair.

One of my favorite heat protectants/frizz removers is Milkshake Incredible Milk. I like it because it doesn’t make your hair oily at all. It keeps your hair soft, reduces frizz, protects from heat, and many has other benefits (while smelling amazing).

Something else you could consider to use with a blow dryer is a round brush but it takes some technique!

  13. I have recently started usuing this brush, but I can not do this 3 times a day as after each brush I look like the girl from the cartoon Brave on a very bad hair day, my kids always find it fun when I brush my hair : )
But it is curly and when I brush them they go all puffy and the hair goes really big!
So I try to do this only before a shower.

is it just me with this problem?

    • Jenny,

Ha ha it’s fun that your children get a laugh out of it.

But don’t worry, it’s normal for curly hair to get poofy when brushed. You should go through it first with a wide tooth comb. Then when brushing, start at the bottom instead of the roots (if this isn’t obvious). You can also use some kind of hair serum or defrizzing lotion to control some of the friz.

Before the shower is a good time to do it on a hair type like yours. It’s okay to not brush through your hair 3 times a day. It would be hard for anyone to do that. I usually only do it once also, before bed though, because I don’t have curly hair.

Do you notice less hair fall in the shower when you use the boar bristle brush beforehand? You should!
