Do you have naturally curly hair but not sure how to tame it?

Being blessed with curly hair can sometimes feel like not such a blessing, but that’s only if you haven’t learned the correct ways to manage it. You might be surprised what this Paul Mitchell Curl Definer can do for you. Paul Mitchell’s curl cream has made styling my hair so much easier.

Paul Mitchell Curl Definer Options

Depending on how extreme you like your curls, there are two hair styling options when using this cream!

Option 1. A mix of ringlets and kinky curls

If you already have curls, this method will enhance them with multiple curl patterns. After showering, wrap your hair in a gentle microfiber towel for 5-10 minutes, then let your hair dry until damp. While damp, rub the appropriate amount of cream through your hair while adding very few scrunching movements. This will allow your hair to dry with a mix of ringlets and kinky curls.

Option 2. Turning curls into semi-loose waves

Do you have kinky curls and want to calm them down? You might like this option better.

After showering, wrap your hair in a microfiber towel for 5-10 minutes then allow your hair to begin air drying until considered damp. Put the appropriate amount for your hair length in your palms and gently scrunch the cream into your hair. You’re going to want to start with your ends and work your way up to the roots. If you’d like, you can flip your head upside down while scrunching your hair to add more volume.

Q & A

Question: Does this cream make your hair hard and crunchy?

Answer: This depends. Some days yes and other days no. If I notice my hair has a slightly hard cast, I just gently scrunch it out and my hair is soft again. My absolute favorite thing about this product is that my hair dries completely frizz-free. The bottle doesn’t rave about making your hair frizz-free but it definitely does. Paul Mitchell Twirl Around Crunch-Free Curl Definer cream is a miracle worker.

Question: Is this product worth the price?

Answer: Yes. I truly think that if you are looking to either enhance your curls, or calm them down, then this cream is for you. Paul Mitchell Twirl Curl Definer is a little pricey but you will not be let down. I personally found that with my medium length hair, one bottle goes a long way. I buy a new bottle approximately every two months. I have been using this cream for about a year now and nothing else has ever compared. This product is definitely worth trying. Who knows, you might just have found the one 😉

  1. Hello,

My sister is going to love this site. She is very fussy when it comes to her hair and she uses special shampoos which I never heard before. Obviously this is not for me but what you have in your post will grab her attention for sure. I pass on the link of your site to her, anyway best of luck on your site 🙂

  2. Alright I just reviewed your site. Looks pretty awesome with a lot of answers for those who are worried about their hair, 99.9% girls right? Even me when I have long hair I never take care of it further that washing every day. But for those interested in hair, they will find this helpful.

  3. Hi Angela,

Very well done on your review. It has a lot of information on the steps and products to care for the hair. I really like how you did the question and answer section too, it’s neat. I love your color scheme as well. Thanks and keep up the good work.

    • Thank you. I thought a little question and answer section might be helpful to those who may be interested in the product!

  4. Nice review of this curl managing cream. Glad to see that it can be used in more than one way. As my hair is unfortunately rapidly departing my head I won’t personally be in need of it. However I shall certainly pass on the link to the women in my family! I also love the general look and feel of the site. Very natural and welcoming.

  5. Hi Angela,

This product looks amazing. I have a problem with my hair always going frizzy in the outdoor area. as my hair is thinning it looks like a fluff ball on the front of my head. it looks like a balding trump hairdo. what product do you suggest I use?

  6. Stevoc1974,

You should try a gel! This product acts like a gel without the stiffness. Even though this product could work, any gel would be fine to try.

  7. I love the perm I got last year but after 6 months I think I need some help enhancing them. Glad that I found your blog as I’m definitely going to give the Paul Mitchell Curl Definer a try. Can I still run a blower through my hair to speed up drying after I’ve applied the product? Thanks so much for sharing.

    • Julie,

Angela (the one who wrote the review) does not use blow driers at all for her hair but you should be able to. Test it it out with the curl definer and let us know how it works so I can help more women out. Thanks!
