Everybody hates the look and feel of dirty hair, but showering too can dry out your hair and cause it to get oily quicker. So does Batiste Dry Shampoo work? Yes, it is such a quick fix and kind of a miracle worker. Just a few sprays and you’re good to go.

What Batiste Dry Shampoo Can Do In 1 Minute:

How do you use Dry Shampoo?

Dry shampoo is pretty simple to use. All you have to do is give the can a good shake (to mix up the ingredients), and then spray onto different areas of your roots where you want oil soaked up. There’s a cool blog post video on different ways to use dry shampoo. Check that out.

Does it matter what my hair color is?

Batiste Dry Shampoo has three different options for colored hair. There are special kinds designed for blondes, medium shades/brunettes, and one for deep browns/dark hair such as black. Ladies with darker hair never have to worry about streaks from dry shampoo. I like to use the deep brown or dark divine color for my brown hair.

What are the fragrance options?

First of all, there is the original scent for those of you who don’t really care about fancy fragrances. Other than that, there are options such as floral and flirty blush, cool & crisp fresh, coconut & exotic tropical, fruity & cheeky cherry, bright & lively floral essences, and last but not least, my favorite non-colored can, sassy & daring wild. The wild kind is for those animal print lovers since the Batiste Dry Shampoo can is leopard print!

Is There Anything Bad About It?

The Batiste Dry Shampoo scents can be a little powerful sometimes. The price is definitely not a con.

I’ve heard people say “dry shampoo doesn’t really clean your hair, but it can be good for creating texture”. I don’t agree with this at all. Maybe you’re accidentally using hair spray and coming up with these results? Batiste Dry Shampoo almost makes my hair look as if I just showered. It completely takes away the look of oily-dirtiness and makes my hair look and feel soft.

It’s amazing that such a great product can be bought for under $10. Believe me, you’ve got to try it out if you haven’t already.

  1. Interesting. I’ve never known such things as dry shampoo. I try to not shampoo too often since I worry that my hair gets too dry. This shampoo may be a good replacement especially when we cannot shower for a few days. I wonder, if you use this shampoo every other day for example, how long a can would last?

    • Yuko,

I use dry shampoo several times a week. It really depends how much you’re spraying on but you don’t need much to make your hair very clean-looking with this stuff. It should last a while. I keep a few cans at a time so I wouldn’t be able to say how long one would last.

If you have problems with dry hair, try Acure Shampoo and Conditioner. It is made with argan oil to hydrate hair without weighing it down. My hair is naturally thin and gets oily quick, and this shampoo still works perfect for me!

  3. Hi, Gina. Many years ago I used to use a dry shampoo for quick fix its. When I moved to Australia, showering everyday was almost a requisite due to the heat, especially in summer. I never shampooed my hair every day but my scalp did dry out. So I cut down on the shampooing even more and all of a sudden my scalp improved and my hair looked much healthier.

After talking to my doctor it appears that most people shampoo far too often and it puts the natural hair oils totally out of whack. Since then I have never needed a non shower hair cleaner.

However this product looks quite promising so it may be a distinct possibility for purchase in the future. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Cheers, Helen

    • Helen,

My sister who is in the army says the same thing –That she needs to shower every day to get by over there. Shampooing every day is a bad idea, as you mentioned. It can do so much damage to your locks. Many people have trouble going for days without washing their hair or naturally have oily skin/hair. Batiste works very well in-between washes. You should give it a shot.

  4. I love Batiste Dry Shampoo’s! The blonde one is great and also good for covering darker roots. I do think the product looks better on darker hair though.

The only thing I dislike about Batiste Dry Shampoo is the feel of it. I really hate the feel of it on my hair but I suppose the look of it is what matters.

    • Sammi,

I don’t notice any kind of negative feel from using Batiste Dry Shampoo. It may be possible that you spray it too close to your hair. Blondes shouldn’t have to use much for this to work.

I’m glad you overall like this dry shampoo though.

  5. Gina, I am a guy, but I totally agree with you that shiny, well nourished hair is probably one key markers that renders a person attractive. Does this also work for men. As somebody who travels a lot this would be great to have on the road with me especially if the water in the area is of bad quality or treated excessively with chlorine.
